Eco-Friendly Packaging
One of our greatest concerns is the ecological impact Phillips Fish Works is having on our shared environment we call Earth. I’m passionate about microplastics and polystyrene in our water and soil. From day one I have been unhappy with the styrofoam we use for insulation of our shipping boxes. One major problem with styrofoam is it’s not recyclable in most areas and ends up in the ground.

Thanks to all of YOUR support, we are now able to partner with a packaging solutions company and have some new options. Our first of many steps to become more eco-friendly is to eliminate the use of styrofoam for disposable purposes, like shipping box insulation. We received several eco-friendly alternative samples and landed on a 100% curbside recyclable insulation. This new insulation is 100% PET (polyethylene terephthalate), made from recycled bottles. The new eco-friendly box insulation is here and all 7 and 8 inch boxes will use this new insulation. Orders containing The Green Water Machine or have more than 6 items will go in larger boxes and will have styrofoam as their insulation, for the time being. We are very excited about this change and envision a day when all the packaging material you receive from us is recyclable and/or compostable! Progress on our eco-friendly packaging mission will be updated in later newsletter issues.

**Shipping price now includes new eco-friendly box insulation for 7 and 8 inch cubed boxes. Larger orders will still ship with custom cut styrofoam insulation for the time being. Thanks for your support and helping us take our first big step in achieving our eco-friendly packaging goals!**
